Akebono Asset to enter into capital alliance with Asuka Asset


31/Jan/2020 – Akebono Asset Management Ltd., the alternative investment management company managing the secondary strategy (“Akebono”) in Japan, announced its capital alliance with Asuka Asset Management Co., Ltd. (“Asuka”), a pioneer of hedge fund manager in Japan, through the acquisition and third-party allotment of a part of Akebono’s shares by Asuka.

Details of the alliance

Akebono provides solutions to asset management issues for domestic and overseas investors through its low liquidity asset secondary strategy. Through a partnership with Asuka Asset Management, a long-time leader in Japan’s alternative asset management industry with a focus on hedge funds and engagement investment, a role will be created as a pilot in Japan’s unique alternative asset management environment that can handle everything from private assets to public assets.
